It's at this time of year that most of us spend time with family members, far and near. It's on this day that I think of my husband and his family, his father Ed, his sister Brenda and mother Sally. They have all gathered together in Michigan to be with Sally. You see Sally has been in the hospital for a little more than a month now and though she is slowly recovering, she needs her family near her.
While I made this family tree art quilt several months ago for an on-line class I'm teaching in February, I knew it would someday belong to Sally. She loves her family and she loves hand-made gifts.
Funny thing ... I thought this quilt was finished until i looked at it again today.
It needed something else ...
A few more free-motion stitched swirls ...and a small circle of metal with the family name stamped on it.
Oh ... and a little red heart!
LOVE to my family in Michigan...Cynthia
